Thermally fused melamine provides a durable decorative surface
Coveright is the largest independent supplier of thermally fused decorative melamine (TFM). Our highly durable melamine coated papers are chemical-, water- and steam-resistant. Certain combinations provide impact- and wear-resistance equal to more expensive high pressure laminate at a lower cost. Our melamine films are available in two levels of wear resistance:

About Coveright Thermally Fused Melamine
Coveright supplies melamine films to laminators who produce thermally fused melamine, sometimes called low pressure laminate, thermofused melamine or TFM. Thermally fused melamine is very durable when compared to painted surfaces or surfaces glued with a lightweight paper sometimes referred to as foils. It can withstand wear as easily as high pressure laminate; however, it is less expensive than either high pressure laminate or wood veneer alternatives. Coveright Thermally Fused Melamine is made by laminating a melamine coated paper saturated with aminoplastic resin to a wood-based composite panel, such as particle board or fiberboard, using a combination of high temperature and pressure. The result is a durable surface that requires no additional finishing or protection. The process is very similar to that used for high pressure laminate, except it uses a board-product backing instead of phenolic backing.
Proven impact and wear resistance
Decorative surfaces that use Coveright High Wear Resistant Melamine films meet all NEMA surface standards for HPL including Test #3.13 for wear resistance. When used in combination with our Impact Underlay,our High Wear Resistant Melamine Film meets NEMA standard Test #3.8 for impact resistance. This innovative resin underlay technology can be used with many of the TFM designs from our
collection creating durability equal to high pressure laminate at a significantly lower cost.
